There is a committee of students, facutly, and staff at UNC Charlotte who spearhead TEDxUNCCharlotte to bring a dynamic and engaging speaking event to campus. By bringing in various campus stakeholders, we strive to represent the various communities of UNC Charlotte and with whom are university interacts.

The event will take place on Friday, March 27 at 12:30 p.m.

The theme for this year is Thinking Future. Thinking Forward.

There is a lot of uncertainty at what the future holds. We want to hear your ideas for the future, possibilities of difference and impact, share your idea on how you would expand our present reality or create forward thinking change. Thinking Future. Thinking Forward. is a challenge to think bigger, bolder, and onward.

Applications open on October 1 for speakers and will close by midnight on October 31. All interested speakers must complete an application sharing out their idea worth spreading as well as their background that relates to the topic. From there, we may have additional steps to learn more about the idea and speaker before selecting our speakers for the event.

Anyone is eligible to be a speaker! A goal for TEDxUNCCharlotte is to feature voices of the university, and we want to create the most dynamic event and feature ideas across disciplinaries, which means including community members in the greater Charlotte area and beyond!

Nope! It's great if your idea connects to the theme as it's a charge for the upcoming event, but the goal is always to create the most dynamic event possible, meaning getting the best ideas possible, even if they aren't connected to the theme.

The plan is to feature around 12 speakers, but there is no exact number of speakers selected.

Ticket informaiton will be available in spring. Tickets will be sold for $10 for a student ticket and $25 for a general ticket.
